As part of its ongoing extension initiative to support and train future information professionals, the College of Science Library (CSLIB) continues its partnership with the Bulacan State University (BulSU) under an established Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that allows BulSU BLIS students to complete their on-the-job training (OJT) within the UP College of Science Libraries.

In 2nd Semester AY 2023- 2024, the first batch of BulSU OJTs completed their internship, marking the end of their month-long journey with a small despedida celebration held on May 23, 2024. The event was filled with gratitude, laughter, and reflections on their time spent learning about academic library operations and services.

The second batch followed during the First Semester of AY 2024-2025, culminating in their OJT Graduation on December 5, 2024, where eight students were recognized for successfully completing their training.

Throughout their internship, the OJTs were assigned across the College of Science Library and Institute Libraries, giving them hands-on experience in various aspects of library work, from circulation, reference services, technical processing, inventory, digitizing materials, research data services, and reader engagement.

Through this program, CSLIB continues to uphold its commitment to mentorship, professional development, and collaboration, providing students from other institutions the opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into the dynamic environment of an academic library.

The College of Science Libraries extends its heartfelt thanks to the BulSU OJTs of 2024 for their dedication and enthusiasm, and looks forward to continuing this partnership in the years ahead.
