Love Blossoms at CSLIB: A Heartfelt Valentine’s Celebration

This past Valentine’s season, the College of Science Library was filled with more than just books and study-focused students, it was brimming with warmth and a whole lot of love. From February 6 to 14, 2025, the Library came alive with activities that brought students, faculty, and staff together in a celebration of sweetness and community.

The week-long event began with Share the Love for CSLIB, a playful yet meaningful way for users to voice their thoughts. With the prompt, “We want to be the best for you! How can the CSLIB be better?” Library-goers expressed their suggestions, from practical needs like longer hours, more water dispensers, and extra seating, to heartfelt thanks for the guards, custodians, and even the beloved library cats. Some left witty remarks and lighthearted messages, turning the feedback board into a delightful conversation between the library and its users.

Adding a splash of charm to the celebration was the CSLIB Love Photobooth, set up in the lobby for everyone to enjoy. Students stopped by before entering the library, friends posed together, and even faculty and staff joined in the fun. Guard-on-duty Ate Sam cheerfully snapped photos for the participants, ensuring no one was left out of the moment. The result? Smiles, laughter, and a collection of photos that captured the festive spirit of the library.

Finally, the celebration ended on a sweet note with All the Love, All the Sweets! A guessing game that challenged participants to estimate the number of candies in a box. The twist? Not even the staff knew the exact count until the big reveal. With prizes at stake and jars of colorful treats on display, the guard table turned into a hub of excitement. Winners claimed their jar-ful of chocolates and sweets, and the remaining candies were happily shared with everyone present, spreading the joy even further.

Through all these activities, CSLIB’s Valentine’s Celebration wasn’t just about games and giveaways, it was about connection. By inviting feedback, creating shared moments, and sprinkling in fun surprises, the Library strengthened its role as more than just a study space. It became a place where love for learning and love for community meet.

And as the last candies were enjoyed and the photo booth packed away, one thing was clear: this Valentine’s week at CSLIB left not just sweet memories, but also a stronger bond between the library and the people it serves.
