Food, Focus, and Finals: CSLIB Pakain for First Semester AY 2025-2026
Food, Focus, and Finals: CSLIB Pakain for First Semester AY 2025-2026
As the first semester of the academic year draws to a close, the College Science Library fills with the familiar rhythm of finals season, long study hours, quiet concentration, group discussion, and students hunched over notes and laptops. In the midst of the pressure brought by examinations, requirements, and looming deadlines, the CS Library once again reaffirmed its commitment to student support through CSLIB Pakain, a semester-end tradition designed to nourish both body and spirit.
Held from December 3 to 5, 2025, CSLIB Pakain for the first semester of AY 2025-2026 provided free snacks and meals to students using the library. The initiative began in the morning with pan de coco and freshly brewed coffee, followed by Spanish bread for afternoon snacks on the first day. For the remaining days, students were treated to a mix of biscuits and nuts, still paired with brewed coffee to keep them energized throughout the day. In the evenings, meals were served to students studying late and those staying overnight at the CSLIB Study Nook.
This semester’s Pakain was made possible through the generosity of the CSLIB staff, who donated and contributed the morning and afternoon snacks, and through the support of Steph and Cheska’s Canteen (CSLIB Canteen), which sponsored the evening meals. Their collective efforts transformed the library into not just a space for rigorous study, but also a place of comfort and care during one of the most demanding periods of the semester.
Through CSLIB Pakain, the College of Science Library continues its tradition of standing with students during finals week, offering more than just resources and study spaces, but also warmth, encouragement, and nourishment. In these small yet meaningful gestures, CSLIB reminds its users that they are seen, supported, and never alone as they work toward their academic goals.
