Advancing Sustainability: E-Journals on UP and the Sustainable Development Goals

The College of Science Library (CSLIB) highlighted an important initiative from the Information Services and Instruction Section of the UP Diliman Main Library: the launch of the E-Journals on UP and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This collection reflects the University’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by providing access to scholarly materials that directly address global challenges.

The curated section features more than 5,300 articles drawn from the University’s electronic subscriptions, accessible on-campus via DILNET and remotely through OpenAthens. Organized according to specific SDGs, the collection enables faculty, researchers, and students to easily locate resources relevant to their academic or advocacy interests.

Current coverage includes:

Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being (2,802 titles)

Goal 4: Quality Education (486 titles)

Goal 5: Gender Equality (302 titles)

Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities (627 titles)

Goal 13: Climate Action (966 titles)

Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals (199 titles)

By spotlighting these resources, the initiative supports the University’s mission to integrate sustainability into research and teaching. It also provides the College of Science community with reliable, peer-reviewed references that can inform both scientific inquiry and practical action toward achieving the SDGs.

Through this effort, CSLIB continues to expand access to knowledge that matters—not only for academic advancement but also for the shared pursuit of a more sustainable and equitable future.
