Calm Quest: Balancing Brainwork and Breaks at the CS Library
Calm Quest: Balancing Brainwork and Breaks at the CS Library
Amid the buzz of midterm reviews and quiet hum of focused study sessions, the College of Science Library offered a simple and fun escape through Calm Quest: Where Logic Meets Leisure held on September 30 and October 1, 6, 7, and 8, 2025. A corner of the library was transformed into a mini playground for the mind filled with puzzles, logic games, candies, and stickers.
The five-day activity, organized by the BulSu OJTs with support from the CSLIB Readers’ Section, encouraged students to take short, mindful breaks while keeping their minds active. It was built around a simple idea: relaxation doesn’t have to mean switching off. Sometimes, it just means engaging differently. Students eagerly gathered around the Calm Quest station to solve Sudoku, crosswords, mazes, and word scrambles. Some worked solo, others teamed up with friends. The space buzzed with laughter, curiosity, and the quick sighs of relief that come with small wins.
Throughout the activity, participation remained strong, proving that small pockets of play can go a long way in easing academic stress. Even those who didn’t join couldn’t help but pause, peek, and smile at the cheerful setup, a reminder that sometimes, the best study breaks are the ones that still make you think. Calm Quest became a celebration of balance between logic and leisure, challenge and rest, learning and fun. It showed that even during the most demanding weeks, the CSLIB remains not just a place to study but a space to breathe, play, and grow.
With its success, students can look forward to more interactive activities that bring fun and focus together, one puzzle, one pause, and one calm quest at a time.
